I had my first appointment with RaVonda yesterday and before she started my massage, we thoroughly discussed the pain issues I have been having. She talked through her recommendations of techniques that would work best for the hip pain and shoulder pain I have.
I booked a 45 minute neuromuscular massage with Elizabeth for an acute-on-chronic flare of neck pain. This was not my first professional massage but was my first experience with neuromuscular massage. I have a lot of spasms in my upper back/shoulder and neck area and this was perfect.
I get massages twice a month and I have my regular massages therapists who are GREAT! However, I visited the B’ham Wellness Massage Greystone office and I can say that Morgan provided me one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve ever had. She located my problem areas without me telling her which was amazing.

What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
