I've been a patient at Golden Needle (formerly Oriental Acupuncture Wellness Center) for over a year. The new clinic location is clean and recently renovated. A friend recommended them after successful cupping and acupuncture treatments for back pain. Acupuncturist Hugh Lee is both kind and dedicated.
The best clinic I’ve ever went to! Doctor Lee is a great listener who always speaks with such a gentle delightful voice. Staffs here are also friendly and helpful.
Doctor Lee and Doctor Chen are both knowledgeable and professional, they have helped me with my chronic leg , knee’s and feet pain & numbness, as well as helped with my neck and lower back and it has relieved much pain and discomfort that I was experiencing.
Dr. Lee is amazing! I had Bell’s Palsey and traditional western medical care was not working. He squeezed me in the same day I called and gave me acupuncture treatments twice a week for four months. It was a time commitment well worth it. He was very accommodating with my schedule and always pleasant and friendly.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
