…I generally request a deep tissue massage but she has incorporated cupping, Swedish, stretching, and lymphatic drainage at times. Heather is a healer. She takes the time to address each muscle group with care. Highly recommended for a professional, healing experience.
Heather is fantastic. I was reluctant to try a new therapist in the area as I never thought I would find one as good as my previous one. She listens to what I say and gets me back in tip top shape. I feel leaving relaxed and the next day rejuvenated.
Heather deserves 50 out of 5 stars!! She is the most attuned, compassionate, responsible, inspiring, and all around wonderful healer. She is highly skilled and profoundly knowledgeable. I could not recommend her or sing her praises enough. You need Heather. Period!!
I had a great experience with Awakening Healing Center. I had some ongoing back pain with an unknown cause, and she was able to really work the knots out of my back. It was a very relaxing environment. I definitely recommend.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
