From the reviews
August 31st is going to mark 2 years that I am going to Alexandria Myotherapy inc to receive a lymphatic cupping and decongestant cupping massage from Teneisha Coursey. She is the best. Very professional, calm and patient.
I started going to Myotherapy about a month ago and I love it. Darla is so kind and fingers have the magic touch. My second time back I saw Mark. Mark really relieved my pain spots and bed side manner was superb. Looking forward to my next visit.
I have had such a great experience here. I've been seeing Jenny for myofascial release and I so enjoy her intuitive approach. She's very knowledgeable with anatomy and helped me work through pain I've had in my shoulder on and off for years!
I have been to a ton of doctors who gave me the run around. On a recommendation of a friend, I saw Darla for a Lymphatic Drainage massage and it really helped my body turn a corner. I try to have one at least once a month or two months.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
