From the reviews

I came to Altus to help me de-stress from a family emergency that has me in Philly; and I struggle with chronic pain in my neck and shoulders. I’ve done physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, myofascial release… and my 90 minutes with Holland was one of the single-handedly most helpful things I’ve ever…

Altus Massage has such a lovely atmosphere and ambiance inside. The owner and the masseuse I had were both so warm and friendly. The massage itself was amazing and had me feeling so refreshed and calm. I also was able to attend a sound bath session here that was also a really great experience.

I just had the most wonderful massage from Danielle! You ever heard the saying ‘It hurts so good’? I felt so relaxed and much better. Ms. Danielle did an amazing job and did I mention she is super sweet? Altus has gained another customer. Thank you!

I had a top notch experience with Kelsey at Altus! First off, when you enter, the space is inviting, airy and peaceful. Kelsey is calm and supportive in nature. I had a 90 minute massage. In that time, Kelsey used some incredible essential oils that I could smell and they soothed my mind and breathing to help me relax.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
