From the reviews
Erin at Almere Acupuncture is far beyond a typical acupuncturist. She has a rare gift, not only for helping with physical pain, but for creating a space where real healing can happen on a much deeper level. From my very first session, I could tell this was different.
Came into Alamere Acupuncture because of a sports injury: soreness in my hamstring. As a distance runner, I was concerned about this getting worse and impacting my ability to continue training. Dr. Erin was highly knowledgeable and was able to assess tight points both in my hamstring and other muscle groups.
I cannot recommend Erin at Alamere Acupuncture highly enough. From the moment you step into her space, you are greeted with a calm and warm atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. Her space is thoughtfully curated and radiates positive and healing energy.
I cannot recommend Erin and Alamere Acupuncture enough! Erin is incredibly thoughtful and always takes the time to really listen to my concerns. She tailors each treatment to what I need in that moment, and always knows exactly how to support my body.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
