I had a great experience at Ahimsa Massage with Joni. As a college student, I really appreciate that they offer shorter and more affordable massage options since I wouldn’t have been able to book if only hour-long sessions were available like many places.
Joni Stidham does a tremendous job as a masseuse! I found her over a year ago and try to see her every other month for a 60 minute massage. She incorporated hot stones just a bit during the last couple of sessions! It really helped my neck and shoulders.
I’ve been getting massages from Joni for almost a year and they are always so relaxing. She always makes my muscles feel much better too! It is my favorite part of the month that I look forward to. I’ve gotten massages from a lot of different people and places and she is very talented!
Joni is excellent, 5 stars all the way! She is very good at deep tissue massage. She is also very kind and knowledgeable. She works very hard on problematic muscle knots and helps people who suffer from chronic migraines. I have recommended her to my family and my friends.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
