I started seeing Andy @ Advanced Rehab & Sports Medicine in January of 2023. I had been diagnosed with arthritis heavy pain in both hips and was struggling with lower bask pain as well.
I went there for back issues that I've been having for 10 years. I've seen numerous chiropractors who would temporarily fix the issue. After some time I would reinjure myself and be back in their office. My back is usually so bad moving is not an option.
I've been here for two stints of rehab and will definitely come back! In fact, I had a choice this last time of a rehab center and chose Cottage because of my previous experience here. I love the staff, they are so friendly and personable. I would have never progressed so much in my recovery with out these fine people.
Advanced Rehab has truly helped alleviate my neck and shoulder pain. The therapists are very professional and knowledgeable. They sent me home with practical exercises that helped with my recovery. They helped me to set goals and I am so thankful for the experience they shared with me.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
