From the reviews

I highly recommend Advanced Alternatives. I was struggling with a 6 month long flare up of TMJ and arthritic upper cervical constriction. Leisa's skill in myofascial release and intraoral massage were key in getting me going in the right direction.

The owner Lisa is one of the most kind person I have come across. When I first started going to her, I was in extreme pain from surgery. She has been doing Lymphatic drainage massages on me and I am so happy I found her. After each session, I feel a little more relief.

EXCEPTIONAL! I am traveling through town. Was in extreme muscle pain in neck and back. Owner was incredibly accommodating and professional. Was able to call in a massage therapist for me. The massage therapist. Andrea, was spectacular.

I had such a great experience here. The office got me in quickly. I’ve had hundreds of massages and Ra is the best masseuse I’ve ever had. He is very knowledgeable and kind. When I went in, I was feeling physically sick from stress.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
