From the reviews
At first I have to admit I didn’t know much about acupuncture but knew it was something I should try. From the very beginning Dr.Dae talked me through everything he was doing. I came in with hip, knee, lower back and digestion issues and each time he worked on a specific spot.
I have been treated for seasonal allergies by Dr. Penick for the last 9 months with great success. Then, Dr. Penick began treating me for my vestibular migraines. I cannot say enough about how it has improved the quality of my life.
Van is an exceptional acupuncturist who truly listens and takes the time to understand your concerns. He communicates clearly and succinctly, offering thoughtful solutions without overwhelming you. What stood out most was his ability to develop a treatment plan tailored to my needs.
I have been going to Acuvanture for over a year and have seen several of the practitioners. My energy level has increased and my debilitating pain has decreased. I always fall into a deep relaxation with every practitioner and am thankful that insurance coverage enables me to go weekly.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
