I’ve been going to the Roxborough-Manyunk Community Acupuncture Clinic for a year, though I’ve been receiving acupuncture treatments for about 5 years now. I used to work at the Community Acupuncture Clinic in West Philly before I moved, so I was familiar with the whole set up, which is essentially totally affordable…
Absolutely love Rox Community Acupuncture. Before I started coming here I had acupuncture a few times at different locations, but couldn't really tell if it was beneficial. This completely changed once I started seeing Jess at Rox! I feel so balanced and relaxed after each session.
Having 2 bulging disk, a compressed disk, and atrial fibrillation, I was willing to try anything. I have been under Dave's care most of the time but there was also a woman -equally skilled- who worked with me on one occasion and was also very helpful.

What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
