I had been suffering for 6 months from multiple symptoms and had been to my primary care doctor with no results, but plenty of expensive testing. Constance Goehring at Accupuncture Newton treated me and at first I was quite skeptical. After a few visits I was dramatically improved.
I came to Dr. Gehring with severe cat allergies. I had heard about N.A.E.T. treatment but was not really sure if it would work for such a severe allergy. It most definitely DID. I highly recommend Dr. Gehring and hope you are confident about feeling better under her care.
I have nerve damage in one of my hands keeping it from opening all the way. I called her to see what she can do to help it, and she was honest up front in saying she might not be able to fix it, but can relieve the pain caused by it.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
