From the reviews

I have seen Dr. Chen for over 16 years for acupuncture and cupping. He is outstanding. I have referred many to him; eveyrone loves him!

A friend recommended Helen to me when I had super itchy eczema flare ups, I’ve tried different types of prescription eczema creams and none worked. Helen was patient and caring, understood my situation and concerns, and within one acupuncture session the itchiness was gone like magic!

I went to see Dr. Chen with a persistent cough and no definite diagnosis from doctors I had seen. The first treatment opened my sinuses like they had not been in years. By the 3rd treatment, my cough was gone, my right ear was clear and I was breathing much easier. I was truly amazed.

★★★★★ — Jen, Aug 2014

I waited too long to treat Lyme disease and was experiencing joint pain, numbness and chronic pain, severe at times, for months. I went to Dr. Wang with an open mind but honestly was so deflated mentally and physically that I had mitigated expectations.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
