From the reviews

I had been experiencing numbness in both feet as well as significant pain in my hip. I had seen spinal doctors, neurologists and chiropractors with no relief. Dr. Shim started me on acupuncture and cupping therapy.

My Achilles has given me pain for the last 8 months causing me to limp and draining me of energy. Going to physical therapy and doing home exercises didn’t help. A nurse friend recommended I give acupuncture a try before resorting to surgery, etc. I’m so glad I did! I have the utmost confidence in Dr.

I want to share my experience with Dr.Shim. It's been excellent. I'd been taking medication and undergoing therapy for over a year, and nothing relieved my sciatic pain. I called for information, and Valeria answered. She was very kind, and I felt like this was the right place to go. And it has been excellent.

★★★★★ — Mari, Mar 2026

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my acupuncturist and the entire staff! From the moment I walked in, everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely caring. After my second treatment, I was already feeling so much better — I could tell that Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
