From the reviews

Oh my goodness! I just had an amazing massage with some incredible add-ons all while overlooking the beautiful Charles River Esplanade. The room was very comfortable and clean, the music was soothing, and Laura was highly skilled.

Truly a GREAT massage! Laura is highly experienced in a variety of massage. My deep- tissue massage was geared to my particular needs and worked out a lot of my tight troublesome areas. I’m looking forward to a cupping session next.

I had an incredible massage with Laura, and I don’t say that lightly — I’m a bodyworker myself, so my standards are high. Laura is truly amazing. Her work is strong, highly technical, and extremely specific, with a level of skill and awareness that’s rare to find.

I was in Boston for the evening and trying to book a quick massage for a friend and I. Due to technology issues, I wasn't able to book two appointments. I had read the cancellation policy and knew I would be charged a fee because I had to cancel. Laura was so lovely to deal with.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
