The Cupping Therapy Cost Index (2026)

"How much does cupping cost?" is the single most-asked question in the niche — so we built the number instead of guessing at it. We read the prices that US cupping providers publish themselves and rolled them into one index: what a session actually costs, how prices spread, and how the states compare. Consumer version with the full FAQ lives on the cupping cost hub. Updated 2026-07-24.

The headline number

A standalone cupping session in America is typically about $100.

Most providers land between $66 and $135 a session, across a full range of $20 to $400. Based on the 4880 providers in our directory that post a price publicly. The cheapest way in: cupping is often far less as a short add-on to a massage or acupuncture visit than booked on its own.

What you'll actually pay: the price bands

Cupping isn't one price — it's a spread. Here's how the 4880 priced providers fall out by band. The tails matter: budget and community clinics anchor the low end, while big-city med spas and longer, multi-area sessions push the top.

Read it as a floor on your homework, not a quote: these are the prices providers chose to publish. Many list only "call for pricing" or bundle cupping into another treatment, so treat this as a starting point and confirm the current rate — and ask what's included (session length, number of cups and areas, standalone vs. add-on) before you compare two providers on price alone.

The state cost index

Where enough providers post a price to rank a state honestly (at least 5 priced providers), here's the median session price by state. Alaska sits at the top at $157 a session.

Emerging state data

An honest note on coverage: cost data is the hardest field to gather, because most providers don't post a price at all. So far 4880 providers across 51 states publish one — 33.7% of the directory. That's plenty for a solid national figure, but thin at the state level, so we show every state with at least 3 priced providers below and flag the small samples plainly. These rows will firm up as our crawl grows.

Why cupping prices spread so far

Methodology: prices are providers' own publicly posted figures, read from provider websites and pricing pages across our national directory of 14,489 cupping providers. We prefer the per-session cupping rate — it's what most people mean by "how much is cupping" — and fall back to another posted rate only where that's all a provider lists. Every number is a floor on coverage — a provider only enters the index once it lists a price, so the sample (4880 providers, 33.7% of the directory) grows with each re-crawl. National median and quartiles are computed across all priced providers; a state is ranked once it has 5+ priced providers and shown as "emerging" at 3+. Prices change often — always confirm the current rate on the provider's own page. More data: the stats hub and best cities for cupping.
