From the reviews
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Zara Acupuncture. Dr. Magdalen Hsu-Li is amazing and has helped me tremendously. I’ve had hyperhidrosis ,which causes excessive sweating, since a little boy, and my primary care physician said there are few options available, including a very risky surgery.
Magdalen Hsu-Li has been a amazing Doctor of Acupuncture to me. She is very intuitive, loving, and cares for her parents so much. She took care of me like no one else ever had before. Her love and passion for what she does as a doctor was beyond my expectations.
I saw Dr. Hsu-Li for acupuncture, when I was going through a very difficult time, in my life. My nerves were constantly on edge, and it was difficult to function. Her treatment helped me regain balance and supported me in coping with my situation.
Being new to Chinese medicine, I didn't quite know what to expect...When I walked into the door of Zara acupuncture I was greeted warmly welcomed by Dr.Hsu-Li. Her calm and cheerful disposition helped me to feel immediately at ease.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
