Update…. 5 stars continues. Amanda does a great job. I will continue to recommend Yu Spa. Yu Spa is very close to where I stay when in Palm Desert. I’ve walked by it several times on my way to the grocery store and finally decided to stop in and try it out.
What a fabulous experience! My husband and I were town from SD for a couple's massage (my husband's gift to me for our 43rd wedding anniversary) they were AMAZING! Amanda and Both specialists were wonderful and each specialist catered to our pressure limits and made sure to touch on points we never knew needed it.
I am visiting the area for work and came upon Yu Spa and I decided to try it out. I booked the 2-hour full body scrub + massage and it was absolutely wonderful and so relaxing. Started with a body scrub, it was lovely and made my skin super soft. The massage therapist was very thorough and worked out all my knots.
The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and tidy and even set up beautifully. To top everything off the massage was very good, the best I ever had. I had been experiencing back and shoulder pain for months so this was a huge relief. Thank you so much!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
