From the reviews
I worked in the healthcare industry for 45 years. I was a doctor of pharmacy and spent most of my career in a clinical setting with an emphasis of internal medicine, intensive care work, and infectious disease. Western medicine has changed a lot over the past 25-30 years. They do not incorporate wellness .
I recently completed my second session with Dr. Yong Ping Chen, and I am incredibly grateful for her care and expertise. After each session, I felt deeply relaxed, and my pain significantly decreased.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Chen since I was about 10 years old, and she’s always been so caring, patient and extremely knowledgeable. I appreciate a doctor who takes the time to listen to my concerns, and Dr. Chen has always been that way. I’m now 19, and I still go to Dr. Chen for acupuncture and cupping.
Many of my family members have been going to see Dr. Chen for years and have had very positive results. I came to see her after a trip from Paris that left me with severe vertigo that persisted throughtout the week I was there and after I came back.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
