From the reviews

I have been going to YK for several years to help me manage my chronic pain amongst other health issues. My pain is do to advanced spinal and hip arthritis, these stem from genetic bone. Issues. After having double fusion lower back surgery, I began seeing Michael Max.

I started acupuncture as as last resort, and I'm so pleased with the results! I've been a patient for almost one year now, and I've really noticed a difference in my mindfulness, pain reduction, digestion, and overall health. Cupping has been a wonderful new discovery. AMAZING!!!!

In January, 2012, I paid my first visit to Yong Kang Clinic. After months of being sick from the lingering effects of bronchitis -- and being pumped full of antibiotics-- I said, "I need something different, something more natural that can help me get well." Michael Max offered me tea.

★★★★★ — J, Jun 2017

A friend recommended them. This is a fantastic clinic run by Dr. Michael and Tracy. I've been in for a few chronic things, and two acute things, and got meaningful relief from both (joint pain, illness) each time.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
