I started seeing Heather for Lymphatic Drainage massage two weeks after my tummy, tuck breast, reconstruction, and liposuction, And she has been amazing from the very beginning. I have been going to Yemaya Massage for a few years now. I go every few months to treat myself to a much needed massage. I have had a few different therapists and I have never had a bad one! Eileen was wonderful when I was pregnant, and Linda is the other therapist I see most often, and she is wonderful too.
Heather is an amazing cranial-sacral massage therapist. This was my first experience with c-s massage. Heather helped me uncover & recognize thoughts, beliefs, & memories that I was holding in my body for years.
I have been going to Yemaya for a decade and can not stress enough how helpful an expereince it has been. Heather, the owner of Yemaya, has not only helped me with the usualy achs and pains but helped elivate issues of pinced nerves, pulled muscles and, my Hyatial Hernia.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
