From the reviews
I recently had the chance to make my second visit Who Kneads Knots Massage, and it was one of the best massage experiences I’ve ever had. Erika’s calming presence immediately sets the tone. She has a way of making you feel comfortable and at ease without it feeling forced.
If you're looking for what I believe to be the best massage therapist, you need to see Erika. I was introduced to Erika through my chiropractor that offered message therapy services. Starting with my first treatment with her I knew I was in good hands.
I am happy to have found erika. I consider myself to be an exceptionally picky massage recipient and I feel like she checked all the boxes for me. From the start she was accommodating and provided some flexibility to help get me in. She listened well during the intake and sufficiently addressed my areas of concern.
I've been getting deep tissue massages from Erika for the last couple years at her house, and I followed her to her studio in Geneva. Her studio is clean, comfortable, and inviting. After the massage, she has refreshments available which is always appreciated after the deep work she does.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
