I've been seeing Diane semi-regularly for massages for...two years? Maybe longer? This is all to say that this review is WELL overdue, because she is truly one of a kind. I love treating myself to a massage and have experienced many practitioners, but none quite like Diane.
Have been going to Emily McKeon for massages for a few years now. She is simply AMAZING at her job!!! She genuinely cares about giving you the ultimate experience and making sure that she works on the areas that are hurting. She recommends new techniques that might help sore areas and never steers you wrong.
I had a deep tissue massage for the first time. It was amazing! I appreciated that they use hot stones, cupping, and other methods to help alleviate my symptoms. I will definitely be coming back.
This spa provides a safe and cozy atmosphere both with the staff and the space. Sheri has been a joy to work with and has a beautiful touch of her own. As a massage therapist myself, I notice many details from the room to the actual massage, and the healing I have received has been powerful and fulfilling!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
