From the reviews

I have knows Patti Weissler for about six years, practicing yoga together and as a student when she attends my yoga class. Recently, I came to know her as a terrific health practitioner. I went to her for a nagging lower back issue. Patti spent time testing, diagnosing and treating me.

I have been a patient/client of Patti for 7 years now. I see her on a monthly basis for chronic neck and upper back pain management. I can honestly say that Patti is the best acupuncturist in San Antonio, in my opinion. I remember back in 2008, before a dance competition, I pulled one of my quad muscles.

★★★★★ — Carol, Aug 2014

Patti Weissler is an extraordinary Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She is incredibly well-trained, bright, thorough, intuitive, and kind-hearted. It impressed me right away that she comes from a background of 20 years of Emergency Room Nursing, since I myself am a nurse.

★★★★★ — Marianne, Mar 2014

Patti was recommended by my dear friend, Cindy after my first experience with acupuncture didn't go well. I was leary to try it again, however, Patti made me feel very comfortable. She asked so many questions while going over my health history. She was extremely thorough.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
