From the reviews
I always have a great experience at Urban Acupuncture Center. The staff are always very professional and friendly and healing is their main priority. They do everything to make you feel comfortable. It’s the best place to be for either short term or long term healing. Kudos to all!
Everyone at the center has been very welcoming and helpful. I have been twice to see Katie Kelly and both times I had a great experience. Both sessions with Katie were in the community room which has a peaceful relaxing energy.
Jeff is a magician. Marked improvement for me after only a couple sessions (for a problem that otherwise might have required steroid injections). Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful ... the community acupuncture sessions make ongoing treatments affordable ...
Has the best experience ever. The whole process couldn't have been easier. Amy Jo did a great job of making me feel welcome and Katie, who administered the acupuncture, was a consummate professional through and through. If you've never done acupuncture, you'd be surprised at how non-invasive the process is.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
