From the reviews
I was having some random ankle pains and wanted to find a local place to get started. First day in with Pete and i could tell i made the right choice. He was very attentive to what i was dealing with and asked some great questions.
I went to Pete for issues with my lower back and sciatic nerve. The needling and cupping brought immediate relief and the strengthening and stretching exercises have prevented the pain from coming back. It's been 1 year since my initial visits and as long as I keep up my routine I have no pain.
I chose to go out of network to treat my plantar fasciatis from pickleball because Pete is a fellow pickleballer. He used a multimodal approach: cupping, massaging, exercises, an on-line home stretching program, arch supports, and a stern talking-to for not stretching before playing.
Today was my first visit to True Health and Performance. I was able to get in for a same-day appointment, which was such a relief. Dr. Pete took the time to really listen to my concerns and evaluate my issue. I received needling therapy, which immediately alleviated my discomfort.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
