From the reviews

I had the opportunity today for an appointment at the Ventura Tranquil Waters office,. Liesl, the owner, conducted the detox foot bath and fire cupping as part of my treatment. I came into the office having been exposed to carbon monoxide fumes and other health issues.

★★★★★ — Grace, Jul 2024

Liesl the owner and acupuncturist is hands down the best I’ve ever encountered and a very lovely person! She has helped me in so many ways with mental health problems and body issues like pain and injuries. She also does fire cupping and other eastern practices.

★★★★★ — Zacheva, Aug 2024

Moved to Ventura county and regrettably had to replace my previous acupuncturist. I couldn’t find any one up here until today! I just completed a 2 hour visit and she was even better than my last practitioner!! Best knowledgeable healer I’ve ever been to. If you’re in pain do yourself a favor - you won’t be sorry

★★★★★ — Ileen, Jun 2024

Highly recommend Liesl! She truly takes the time to listen and treat the root cause, not just the symptoms. Every visit feels calming and personalized, and I’ve seen a real improvement in my overall well-being. Five stars!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
