From the reviews

I have been seeing Dr. Alex Hwang and his staff for a couple of years now. I initially came for bad neck stiffness but have progressed on to treating bad shoulders, hips and chronic pain from a 24 year old dislocated tailbone! I have also received acupuncture from Dr. Young Hwang (Dr.

My experience at Total Healing & Wellness was excellent with the hospitality and professionalism of the staff. Starting with the medical assistant Pauline with her diligence in keeping me informed and updated with my appointments throughout treatment. They were very accommodating of my need to reschedule at times.

★★★★★ — Adrian, Dec 2025

I was initially skeptical about acupuncture, unsure of how effective it could really be—until I saw firsthand the incredible relief it provided my husband for his migraines. That inspired me to try it myself for hip pain and general muscle tightness. I’m so glad I did. Dr. Park is truly exceptional.

I came in here initially for a back injury and Dr. Alex and his team had that fixed within the first month. During one of our sessions, I mentioned in passing that I had injured two my fingers in a bike accident years ago, and had given up rock climbing as a result. From then on, Dr Alex.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
