From the reviews
All of the staff I've had the pleasure of interacting with at Total Body Wellness are professional and highly skilled individuals. The receptionist, Maggie, is personable and friendly, and always goes the extra mile to make me feel welcome. Grant, my therapist, always knows the best techniques to relieve my pain.
Have been going for almost one year due to shoulder pain. Never understood what had been happening with my body as I entered old age but Karin certainly showed me. My orthopedic surgeon had recommended massage therapy which I did at the location he referred me to.
My care at Total Body Wellness has been a life changing experience. When I started coming here, I was not able to sit for more than 15 min or walk/stand without lower back pain. I had been receiving cortisone shots in my SI joint every six months for the previous 6 years.
I had been in constant often severe pain for over 20 years. I worked with Karin for about 5 months as well as with Dr Grant and I have been pretty much pain free for about a year and a half. Karin also recommended some exercises that have taught me how to elevate the pain if I feel it coming on.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
