Why Tigermed Therapy is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “t effective treatments to help release "myofascial trigger point" (MTrP) formations deeper in the body. These areas not superficially accessible for self-care, using foam rollers, massage, or even scraping and cupping. To treat…” source →

From the reviews

Dr. Zach's arrival in my life feels like a revelation! Tiger Med Therapy has become my personal goldmine, but I believe in spreading the wealth. So, let me share my experience for the benefit of all. The rave 5-star reviews don't surprise me; if it were up to me, I'd give them 1000+ stars without hesitation.

Absolutely wonderful! I randomly had a scalene spasm that ended up messing with all the muscles in my neck as well as my back. I didn’t know what to do about it so I began to see Zach. This was by far the best acupuncture experience I’ve ever had.

★★★★★ — Nirali, Jun 2016

As a licensed acupuncturist myself (who's needle-sensitive -- how's that for irony?), I hold very high standards for care when seeking personal treatment. When it comes to musculoskeletal issues, Zach is, without a doubt, my go-to health care provider.

★★★★★ — Megan, Mar 2016

Zach is soo unique in his passion for what he does. He is constantly learning, he always fully listens to what you have to say about what is going on with your body, and he has experience with multiple forms of practices.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
