From the reviews

Thrive Physical Therapy has the best team! Joe does my therapy and he always knows what I need to feel better, whether I need manual therapy, dry needling, cupping or the laser. I had stem cell injections in my hip and shoulder and he has helped me get my movement back as well as my strength!

I didn’t know what to expect from Physical Therapy after my surgery but I wasn’t expecting what I received. From day one I have been nothing but impressed with the entire staff. I had a very slow start on my road to recovery but I never felt anything but supported. Jill is so patient, kind and empathetic.

Had a tremendous experience at Thrive Physical Therapy. Very grateful to the entire team getting my daughter back to her team asap. The staff put together a great plan to rehab her knee and she responded very well to their plan. The PT team and front office are great to work with. Really appreciate all their efforts.

I first started going to Thrive 2 years ago. I had just had a hip replacement. I was also having knee pain. I got excellent care! Joe Smith has his doctorate in Physical Therapy and diagnosed a “frozen” nerve from the surgery causing slower recovery for adduction/abduction.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
