Jen is Amazing with a passion of getting to the root of the problem ! She’s used a combination of dry needling and cupping. Jen is wonderful! She does a thorough intake and tries to get to the root of the problem. Sometimes it’s not even what you think it is. Her office is relaxing and the treatment was amazing. I had acupuncture and cupping. My back pain ceased and I was able to walk my dogs again without pain in my legs.

★★★★★ — Nicole, Jan 2022

I am a total skeptic but as I age the joint pain became unbearable. I knew I needed help and acupuncture became part of my treatment. Jen is incredible at what she does. She listens and is so attentive and frankly knows what you need before you do. And then she goes to work.

★★★★★ — Jenabeth, Feb 2025

Amazing experience at Thrive Acupuncture. Jen is so caring and knowledgeable she puts you at ease immediately. I went for an initial treatment after injuring my back. Within a few treatments my pain had decreased and my mobility had increased. I continue to see Jen at Thrive for overall wellness.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
