From the reviews

I cannot say enough good things about The Tomo Touch and Tomo Shimano! I had a foot injury from running in a parking lot with the wrong shoes at an exercise class, and a medical foot specialist decided I had tendonitis or a stress fracture.

I've never written a review before, but after my first session with Tomo I couldn't believe she didn't have more reviews and I felt compelled to contribute. I have been in search of someone that could work out my muscle tension since I moved to Indy 3ish years ago.

Tomo has talent that cannot be taught: and her academic/scientific command of her craft leaves others wanting. It is rare to find an individual who is talented, knowledgeable, personable, and a quality person. This city is very fortunate to have The Tomo Touch

Tomo does amazing work! When I have had back issues, she was able to not only relieve the pain, but helped me to gain back mobility. She is incredibly kind and great at what she does. I'm so grateful that she was recommended to me.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
