From the reviews

I went in to see the highly-recommended muscle doc for shoulder and lower back pain stemming from my rigorous workouts and office job. After just one session, my shoulder & back pain went away! He did a little bit of cupping, massaging and stretching. He even taught me a few movements to implement at home.

I originally started going to The Muscle Doc Method for shoulder issues that were unresolved with physical therapy. These issues included pain, limited range of motion, resulting weakness, and associated postural changes resulting from the lack of alignment and compensation.

One of the best sports massages/cupping sessions I’ve ever had. The muscle doc is very knowledgable in what he does and in his pre session assessment he wants to find out where you’re hurting or sore and targets the area or areas with the intent to make you feel better.

★★★★★ — Mitch, Oct 2019

I am so grateful I made my appointment with Chris. Instantly he made me feel completely comfortable and took tome to ask me what problem areas I had. My back and the left side of my neck were giving me a lot of discomfort. The massage and cupping he did was amazing! I honestly felt better when I left his office!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
