What clients say about the cupping here
“I had been dealing with chronic hip and back pain for over a year, with little success through PT and Chiropractic sessions.”
“She's extremely knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate, and helped me get a lot closer to the bottom of a medical mystery that's been stumping doctors for more than a year.”
“She was fully present and listened carefully during the initial assessment, which created an immediate sense of well-being and reassurance.”
“She immediately put me at ease with an unfamiliar experience--acupuncture, and was there for me at a time when I felt my normal care provider was dismissive of my concerns.”
From the reviews
Andrea is amazing! She has changed my body with massage and Chinese fire cupping. I work on my feet with my whole body and I see Andrea every 4 - 6 weeks. I've had massages in the past that feel good for a day or two but The Meridian was a game changer for me.
I met Andrea at the Freestone Climbing gym during a free massage night two months ago, and have had three body work, cupping, and acupuncture sessions since then. She has worked wonders on my neck and upper back to ease tension related to chronic headaches and injuries that have happened in the last year.
I am incredibly thankful for Andrea Rivera at The Missoula Meridian. Her dedication and commitment to her practice is genuine, consistent and always leaves me with more understanding of whats going on in my body.
I am forever grateful for the work of Andrea Rivera. Andrea treated me with her acute knowledge of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine for an illness I have been suffering from for several years.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
