I love the Healing House. It provides a wonderful, welcoming, clean, and cozy environment for self-care. The front desk staff are always friendly and accommodating and I love the historic architecture.
Before I came to Rebecca at the Healing House I was feeling completely wrung out; my nervous system was running haywire, my anxiety was wearing me down, and my body was hurting and tired from arthritis pain and blood sugar spiking and dropping.
I was looking for help to progress my labor. My care team swore by Rebecca and how helpful her acupuncture care was for them. They were not wrong, about 4 hours or so after her care I was in full labor. Rebecca's care was very holistic. She not only did modality care but also internal care.
I've worked with Rebecca for the past 10-11 months to help with my IVF embryo transfer and to help manage my pregnancy. In 2023 I had my son prematurely at 29 weeks due to severe preeclampsia.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
