From the reviews
I've been working with PT Taylor at The Green Room in Troy since October, for a pretty complicated situation involving post-mastectomy pain and scar tissue as well as general hypermobility. Taylor has been super helpful, patient, and very willing to adapt and get creative to address my intersecting issues.
Clean facility. Very friendly staff, front desk/ therapists. Planning on returning after knee replacement. Update: had total knee replacement. Started PT. Therapist, Jennifer, is very good. She listens to how I'm feeling and plans the session from that. Green Room PT is the only place I've had PT that is 1 on 1.
I have had the pleasure of working with them for the last few weeks since my total hip replacement. From the moment you walk in, the receptionists are very helpful and welcoming, especially Teagan. I work with Jen. She is professional, fun, encouraging and very knowledgeable.
My experience at The Green Room was amazing. My therapist, Alfonso was super great, and he knows his stuff!! I had shoulder replacement surgery and I did not have great range of motion, but thanks to Alfonso, I can reach, I can touch the top of my head, and I can do my at home exercises with little or no discomfort.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
