From the reviews

This review is long overdue. I've been seeing coming to Cupping Box since October and its changed my life. At the time, I was suffering from chronic leg pain and what I thought was shin splints - but it was my varicose veins causing my legs to ache. I had completely given up running for about 3 months.

I had an amazing first cupping experience with Dr. Justin! He made me feel welcomed immediately and explained everything to me, and we discussed my injuries and what he was going to do. We went back to the treatment room and I loved the cool artsy yet calming vibe of the room, totally up my alley.

I had my first cupping experience here at The Cupping Box! From the start, the environment immediately set a positive tone - soft lighting, calming music, and a clean and organized space. I was a bit nervous about cupping and if it would be painful.

★★★★★ — Justine, Aug 2024

I had the best experience at Cupping Box with Dr. Justin! He was super knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me in a way that actually made sense. The whole appointment felt extremely professional from start to finish, and honestly it was such a cool experience overall.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
