From the reviews
I’m incredibly grateful to be a patient at The Center for Advanced Acupuncture! Although I was a bit nervous about my first appointment, Dr. Marek thoroughly reviewed all the details and patiently answered all my questions.
When I started with Dr. Marek I was having excruciating pain at times due to chronic fibromyalgia and osteo-arthris ,as well as acute pain due to a tear in a tendon in my hip that was causing me to use a cane to get around. I was very depressed as a result of the constant pain. I started with 2 appointments a week.
I came to Dr. Peter Marek after struggling for months with chronic sinus issues that required multiple rounds of antibiotics and steroids. After just four sessions, my sinus issues have completely cleared up — I haven’t needed Zyrtec or Flonase for over a week! Dr.
I simply cannot recommend Dr. Marek enough. I came in with a consistent pain level of about a 4 or 5 out of 10 in numerous parts of my body, including sciatica. After the very first visit, my sciatica pain was completely gone! Since then, my pain levels have been reduced to 0 to a rare 1, out of 10.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
