I finally visited the spa yesterday and had an amazing experience! I stopped by in the morning to pick up some body oil and peruse the clothing…as I was checking out, I asked the lovely women at the front desk about availability for a deep tissue massage, and they were able to set me up with Peter later that afternoon.
I received a gift certificate and booked a deep-tissue massage over the summer; and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The overall experience was relaxing and peaceful, and the facilities were beautiful. Hope to be back very soon!
I recently had the Zen for Men massage with Peter, and it was fantastic! First, the spa itself is clean, well decorated, and relaxing, with a friendly staff. Peter is a great masseur.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, and a gorgeous room. We used the indoor pool, which was a wonderful touch and ate at the Roscommon room, which was delicious and had a lovely fireplace to add to the already warm ambiance. We had a couples massage, which was the icing on the cake.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
