From the reviews
Nicky rocks! She is one of the best massage therapists I've ever known. She uses her powerful hands to loosen tight muscles and to stretch stiff joints very effectively. She is attentive to your personal wishes and needs, so each new session builds on the last one.
I'll preface that I enjoy a deep-deep massage, the "hurt-so-good" kind where most places that claim to do "deep tissue" are often gassed within the first 30min. Happy to report, not the case here.
This was by far one of the best massages I have had. Bb did a fantastic job of releasing the ropes I get in my back, not just tight muscles but ropes and they are painful to deal with. When I left I felt amazing! I’m from out of town however if I lived in San Diego I would not go anywhere else for a massage!
I got a 60mim deep tissue massage with hot stones. Vicky gave me an amazing experience! I enjoy deep tissue and she worked through all of my knots without being painful. I left feeling relaxed and renewed, I will definitely be back again soon! This spa is also on classpass which made for easy booking.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Thai Tradition Massage
Thai Tradition Massage comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
