From the reviews
I recently went to Tariq’s Cupping Hijama and Massage in Deer Park NY and had an amazing experience. I went in for Hijama and both Tariq and his brother walked me through the entire process in a very pleasant and professional way.
I’ve been going to them for about 2-3 years now and every-time is an absolutely amazing experience! The professionalism is un-matched and i guarantee you won’t find it anywhere else in their respective field.
I went for wet cupping today after a friend recommended it, and I’m so glad I finally tried it! I was a little nervous at first, but the team made the entire experience comfortable and professional.
Did hijama (wet cupping) with Tariq as my first cupping experience and i must say was absolutely outstanding.. from the communication to the cleanliness & atmosphere, everything was perfect.. mashAllah very knowledgeable brother who’s main goal is help alleviate discomfort in any way he can.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Tariq's Cupping/Hijama and Massage
Tariq's Cupping/Hijama and Massage comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
