“She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable in her work but also one of the most genuine and warm people you’ll ever meet.”

From the reviews

I started lymphatic drainage treatments with Laurie Johnson, LMT in May 2022, due to having a modified/radical neck dissection for head and neck cancer. I needed to have a therapist who was familiar with lymphedema practices and equipment.

I was involved in an automobile accident and my chiropractor referred me to Laurie. I am so grateful for Laurie. She helped alleviate my lower back and neck pain. Laurie is amazing! I now see her once a month now for maintenance. I highly recommend Laurie to anyone who is looking for a massage therapist!

★★★★★ — Viet, Feb 2024

Laurie has been working with me since the beginning of 2019 on managing my headaches. She is trained in several different methods and has been a real problem solver in helping me feel better. She has a calm and nurturing space and it would be worth your time to give her a try...

Laurie is absolutely amazing! I’ve been seeing her as part of my recovery after a car accident, and her skill, care, and genuine energy have made such a difference. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable in her work but also one of the most genuine and warm people you’ll ever meet.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
