Why Sustaining Health Acupuncture is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ven just standing. Nothing seemed to help the pain, not medicine or ice therapy, but after two treatments of acupuncture (with Jacqui), I am now pain free.” — M.P. From the reviews

I am so impressed with Dr Jacqui and the rest of the staff at Sustaining Health. I have been experiencing a problem for nearly two years with back and leg pain and just couldn't seem to get any relief.

★★★★★ — Sharon, Jan 2020

Dr. Jacqui is amazing! When I first came to her I was having headaches/migraines every single day and it was unbearable, now I only get them every now and then- she's made a huge difference in my life! And she truly cares about her patients.

★★★★★ — Alexis, Jun 2019

As a first-timer for acupuncture services, I was extremely nervous about what to expect when I finally decided to do this. From the moment I first chatted with Jacqui, she made me feel comfortable and at peace about the entire process.

★★★★★ — Lashawn, Jul 2015

Dr. Jacqui is a wonderful provider and helped me get on top of my sinus issues. I was having constant headaches and just over all not feeling well but after my first session with Jacqui I felt like a whole new person! After the following sessions I just felt better every time.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
