…This time I had deep tissue massage and also had the cupping in the end. Due to playing pickleball frequently, I had severe pain on my right neck and shoulder, the therapist Hong did great job smoothing the knot on my shoulder. My pain on my neck is gone and my neck and shoulder feel relaxed.
The spa was clean and the masseuse very good and professional. They were thorough and relieved every tight knot. It is reasonably priced and I will go back to them again.
I’ve been sick for the past week and am so grateful for the staff at Sunshine Wellness for helping drain my sinuses and bring me back to life. Feel like a million bucks.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
