I’ve been going to Dr. Lim routinely for the past two years for a variety of treatments, including chronic muscle and lower body pain. He is, without a doubt, one of the most skilled and experienced acupuncturists I’ve seen—and I’ve been to many over the years. Dr. Lim is highly attentive and thoughtful.
I have been seeing Dr. Lim since May of 2022 (neck, shoulders, low back issues) and he has exceeded my expectations with his treatments. I have had other acupuncture treatments when I lived in Chicago (1994-2015) but none were as effective as Dr. Lim. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring.
I injured my lower back while exercising and the pain became so severe that I had difficulty even getting out of bed. A friend referred me to Dr. Lim, and I received acupuncture treatment for the first time.
Dr. Steve is the best. I first saw him to see if he could help me with chronic neck and shoulder pain. I had battled it for years and no traditional treatments helped. After 3 acupuncture treatments from Dr Steve the pain was gone and 18 months later I am still pain free!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
