Wow!! Just wow!! The energy and the scent of the spa was simply amazing! Valen at the front desk greeted me and and helped me get situated. The lounges were gorgeous. I got the ultimate zen with Coco who was so brilliant and sweet! I feel so safe and sooo relaxed when I left. It really made my day!
My sister and I both received the Ultimate Zen and we loved it at the Essex. The spa is lovely and tranquil and my therapist, Robert, was amazing. The service was very relaxing and my skin felt amazing afterwards. We took advantage of the outdoor hot tub and that was perfect as well- gorgeous scenery.
The hammocks by the pool are a nice place to relax after spa treatments. Nice outdoor pool and hot tub. Indoor pool is pretty spacious as well. Lovely relaxation lounges and sitting rooms. Definitely a great place to be pampered.
The overall spa experience was wonderful. I did the dermaplaning with Liz - I’ve never done this treatment before. Liz explained what she was doing each step of the way. Very happy with the results. Thank you Liz.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
