From the reviews
I don’t usually write reviews but for Southwest Integrative Wellness I just have to! The first thing that I appreciated after my initial consultation was that nobody tried to “push” more treatments or products on me to get me to pay more.
Originally sought help for foot pain, but Elyse and her team helped me with digestive issues that were taking over my life. From my first visit, I discribed the atmosphere like a warm hug from a good friend.
Southwest Integrative Wellness is an absolutely amazing clinic. The practitioner, Elyse, is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and empathetic. The front office staff are friendly, caring, and always go the extra mile to be sure my wellness needs are appropriately addressed.
The quality of care here is amazing. I was skeptical on the effectiveness of acupuncture and I was quickly proven otherwise. I deal with chronic pain in most of my body and this treatment did wonders. The lady here has a masters in acupuncture and she cares about people. Great establishment.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
