I had a bad flare up of the sciatica nerve and was open to trying anything to relive the pain. There were days where I could not even walk. My girlfriend, and a number of people I know, have told me that acupuncture is very helpful, so I researched Google, and based on the amazing reviews of South Philadelphia…
This was my first acupuncture experience and it was amazing! Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Lauren really made me feel comfortable and talked with me before to understand what I was experiencing. I had acupuncture and cupping and both were awesome.
I had a great experience yesterday with Lauren! I pulled my neck/shoulder on Sunday and was able to get an appointment on Monday after work. She was immediately able to identify the problem and we did accupuncture, infrared heat, and cupping. She also recommended products to help.
I recently had my first experience with myofascial release I could immediately feel the difference. My body feels lighter and overall my energy is better. Carly is extremely knowledge and a positive force. I highly recommend!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
