From the reviews
This was my second time at The Source - first did a cupping session which helped a pinch in my sacrum TREMENDOUSLY after one session. And then I did my first Acupuncture with Emily about a week later. Emily is thorough, knowledgeable and during the consultation she really listened to my concerns.
I deal with chronic neck and shoulder pain and I can honestly say the best relief has always been acupunture. Emily is absolutely amazing and professional! I added the cupping which provided much immediate relief and after 2 sessions I already feel 100% better.
This was my first experience trying acupuncture. I have been struggling with lower back pain for quite some time and have exhausted all other options from physical therapy to multiple chiropractor visits. I am however quite pleased with the results after only three visits so far! Sharon is absolutely wonderful!
The care at Source Acupuncture has been phenomenal. From new patient intake, to making appointments, and choosing an acupuncturist, everything has been easy. Martha is super commutative and helpful whether in person or by phone.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
